Thistle Farms

I can not count the number of new friends I have that I first met at a home party! Every party is an opportunity to meet new friends. When I share my story, I heal a little more each time. The response of my new friends gives me the strength to move forward. -- Thistle Farms employee

There are three reasons holiday event parties mean the world to Thistle Farms. First, we make our greatest revenue during this season. That revenue keeps us going all year. Second, it provides us an opportunity to make new friends and share the hope of the season. Third, it offers extra work and time that translates into needed income for employees who are reuniting with friends and family over the holidays.  Please consider hosting a holiday part and bringing hope and joy this holiday season to the women of Thistle Farms.  Contact Carole, our Event Coordinator, to set up a holiday home party or office event.

Becca Stevens

When most of us think of human sex trafficking, we don't  think of Tennessee.  However, last year thousands of  children were sold for sex in our state.  The average age of a trafficked victim is 12-13 years old.

Magdalene and Thistle Farms are grateful that January 11, was proclaimed as National Human Trafficking Awareness Day by Congress in 2007.  We are planning to bring awareness and support for our efforts to abolish human trafficking.  Restaurants, local businesses, and community leaders will be partnering with us in this critical movement. If you own a business or  frequent one which you think might want to help, please let us know. An example might be to add one dollar to every check for the month of January -- Human Trafficking Awareness Month.  Your patron could choose to accept the donation or not. Another idea would be to host a donation class teaching yoga, swimming, spin, etc.   I am sure many of you will have ideas.

We are asking you as a concerned citizen to support these efforts in any way you are able.  We invite your ideas to help us end this state and national disgrace.

“We are only part way down the path and we pray every day together for the grace to keep walking in community. All of us need to stand in solidarity with women and children who bear the universal issues of violence on their individual backs.  This work will always be a sacred path.”
